SLC6A1 Connect and Rare Village are excited to welcome Dr. Dennis Lal to North Texas with a Reception on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Dr. Lal is an internationally recognized genomic scientist and newly appointed leader of   precision health at Cook Children’s Pediatric Precision Health Program. He is bringing together genomics, data science, and clinical AI to transform patient care and help end the long diagnostic odyssey many rare disease families face.  

This is a HUGE win for the rare disease community  and such an exciting moment for all of us!  This is a full precision medicine program right here in North Texas. 

To celebrate, Amber Freed, found of SLC6A1 Connect will open her home at 1939 Temperence Hill Drive, Frisco, TX from 5:00-7:00pm CT. Everyone (including kids) are welcome!
